A Rose is A Rose - I Brake For Stamps

Happy Sunday everyone!

I am just returning from my family vacation down at chilly Virginia Beach.  I thought it would be warmer like Florida but I guess not at this time of the year.  Oh well, it's a lot warmer than NH.  So I ventured on the airplane with my new copic carrier loaded with ALL of my markers.  I can't stand to be without them when it is raining or I have some time to color.

So I took some images and had some time on my vacation to relax with my family and color some images.  This is great because that takes up some time when I could be creating my cards.

Today it was my turn to update the I Brake For Stamps blog.  I decided to go with this beautiful rose that comes in a half sheet with other stamps that I grab for ALL the time.  I just love them.

So when I got up this morning I scoured my TJ Newsletter techniques and decided on a couple.  I combined the stacked nesties with the polished mulberry techniques.  I cut my mulberry paper with my spellbinders die and then used another stamp in the floral plate #2 from I Brake For Stamps.

I embossed the Ruby paper with my cuttlebug folder and cut it into 2 1.5 inch rectangles and a larger 3.5 rectangle.  I cut the swirls from my Magnolia Doohickey Die and added some Sun Sisters glimmer mist.  I also added the same glimmer mist (and Candy Apple Red glimmer mist) to the flowers from Petaloo and Maya Road.  These along with the Lost and Found pearl swirls were all freebie thank you gifts from SCACD.

I colored the roses with copics (petals: R29, 22, 21, 20 ; leaves: YG99, 93, 91; background: Y00, Y0000)

Papers:  Stampin Up!, Paper Temptress (Ruby Mica/Metallic - shiny IRL), and Mulberry Paper from a local scrapbook store.

And there you have it.  Hope you have a great Sunday!

Oh yeah, I see so many cool signatures out there, I thought I would try my hand using my Photoshop Elements 10 software to come up with my own, let me know what you think!

Happy Crafting!

The Eyes of Dreams

Here is a stamp from Susanna's Custom Art and Card Design called Sunny Eyes.  I ordered this stamp set and I have been itching to get into my craft room and get it inky...YEAH today was the day.

I picked this purple/teal paper to go with her.  I just absolutely love everything about her.  I got to practice my copic hair and folds techniques.

I used my spellbinders and added some sakura sparkle to her suns, belt, shoes and wings.  I added crystal effects to her dress.  The flowers were a free gift from SCACD called Maya Road that I colored with my Distress Ink Pads along with Dazzling Diamonds glimmer mist.

I did the cuttlebug highlights technique with my new peacock cuttlebug folder and my distress inks.

I am entering this into the Sketch Saturday challenge.

Exercise Birdy - Doodle Pantry/CMC

I made this cute little doodle pantry image for my girlfriend who won our "Biggest Loser" challenge at work.  I thought it would be a great way to congratulate her as well as inspire her to continue on her path to being healthy!

I colored the image with copics.  I was practicing my feathers technique that I learned in Class 5 of the color me creative classroom.

I am entering this into the CMC Copic Challenge which is "YELLOW" this week.

The technique is the Background Whimsey - Dye Method.

Mothers Day - Misted Stencil/Copic Colored Embossing

Happy Sunday all!!!!

I love a Sunday when I can get up and spend the morning with my tea and my craft room...nothin better.  I was dying to try the new TJ newsletter techniques.  My "job" has been so busy that I haven't had a chance to even look through it.

I have a new FAVORITE technique called Copic Colored Embossing.  This newsletter has so many easy and beautiful techniques.  I combined the misted stencil with the Copic Colored Embossing technique.

Stamp is from I Brake for Stamps.  I have a couple of these collage stamps and I am so thrilled to put some ink on them and create some more of these cards!

Thanks for stopping by and have a Crafty Day.

Mothers Day - Layered Masking - IBFS

I used a new (last months) TJ Newsletter technique called layered masking.  Stamp in the circle is from I brake for stamps.

I liked the results from the technique however the purples were a little dark.  I used distress inks.  I will definitely be trying this one again!

Have a creative day and thanks for stopping by!

Picture For Papa

Here is an 8 x 10 door hanging that I made for my husbands grandfather "papa".  He has alzheimers and has been in the NH Veterans Home since 2009.  When visiting him I sometimes bring my coloring tools with me.  He always loves to watch and asked me to make him a birdhouse for his door.  Most of the images I color are small for my cards but I have this great stamp from I Brake For Stamps that is quite large.

I decided to color it with copics.  I added some of my glammer glaze to the birds to make them pop (IRL).  This is also for the I Brake For Challenges monthly challenge "Anything But A Card".  Won't you play along?

Mothers Day - Out of the Box - IBFS

I have been spending some quality "me" time in my craft room to work on my mother's day cards.  This sweet little image is from I Brake For Stamps.  I just love it.  It makes me think of spring and warmer weather

I colored it with copics and added some swirls with stickles on them.  I used my glassy accents on the berries and glimmer mist glimmer glaze on the bird (looks great IRL).

Thanks for checking it out, Have a Crafty Day !!!
